Movie Reviews “Brave”---A Princess in Real Life

Not only "Brave",most of Pixar's films are of such high quality about the visuals and sophistication of storytelling that nearly all other animated films pale in comparison. They tell common stories in some way that feel fresh and emotional true. Do you remember the “Cars 2”? That’s still of high quality than other similar.
Female characters always player an important role in Pixar’s films, just like Dory in "Finding Nemo" and Elastic girl in "The Incredibles," However, "Brave" is Pixar's first film to telling a story around a heroine. In the movies, Merida (Kelly Macdonald) is a Scottish princess, which may let some audiences deem that Pixar is heading down the path of a traditional Disney-style princess film instead of doing something new.
Dismissing "Brave" as just another princess movie is too superficial a read of the film because the portrayal of Merida is refreshing. This is not simple story about a love-sick girl waiting for a man to sweep her off her feet. Merida has little to desire to a man. She is absolutely independent, adventurous and a good shot with a bow and arrow. This is also very much a mother-daughter story, which, unfortunately, we don't see enough of. There are plenty of stories of father-son relationship, but positive mother-daughter stories are too rare a commodity, particularly in the realm of animation. If you look at most of the Disney princess films they are either mother-less ("Little Mermaid, "Beauty and the Beast," "Aladdin") or stuck with an evil stepmother ("Cinderella," "Snow White").
Merida's father, who loses his leg to a bear in the prologue, is proud of his daughter's independent spirit, but her mother just wants her to accept her duties and get married (That seems a true reflection of real world today). When Merida is being presented to potential suitors she takes a stand that greatly angers her mother. Merida flees to the stunningly Scottish hills and forests and finds her way to the house of a witch where she asks for a spell to change her mother's mind. Naturally, the spell doesn't work as expected and mother and daughter must work together to undo the magic. It wouldn't be fair to reveal how the spell goes awry, but it may lose some audience members who, given the title, are expecting something with high stakes adventure. The title refers to having the courage to stand up from what you believe, but to also have the nerve to admit your mistakes and right your wrongs.
Mother and daughter must discover how to truly listen to each other for the first time. They must learn to put someone else's wishes in front of their own while not sacrificing their own beliefs. It is an significant lesson and one that is rarely done in a way that doesn't feel forced or heavy handed.
The writers and directors of "Brave"---Mark Andrews, Brenda Chapman--- have a created a story that is familiar, but tell it in a unique way that is sweet ,fresh and emotionally honest. Comic relief is provided by Merida's three mischievous brothers and sisters and from the antics of the various clansmen whose voices include the likes of Craig Ferguson and Robbie Coltrane. The glorious Connelly also brings a great deal of levity to the proceedings.
Macdonald delivered a wonderful vocal performance as Merida. She’s voice give the Scotland princess more plucky and fun rather than petulant and whiny. Thompson did a great job paly a mother who is frustrated, but loves her daughter and only wants what is best for her.
After the movie, I have to say, I thought much about the emotions between mother and daughter in today’s world. This Scotland princess just like a reflection even a model of myself. In today’s society, traditional Prince and princess like story has fade away and boys and girl have more independent spirit than years ago. It seems that, "Brave" just tell a real life story in mythological background.

Surface VS ipad (Is Surface ipad killer?)

Since the surface released by Microsoft earlier last week in California, Surface become the biggest rival of Apple’s ipad. Microsoft's competition in the tablet space is fierce, and seems no devices are as fearsome as iPad. However, the Surface seems want to do something in this dark market.  The Surface has two versions: one with a ARM processor and running Windows RT, the other with an intel Processor and running windows8. Although the price and exact release date of the “ipad killer” have yet to be announced, we have reason to believe that the surface would have a giant even revolutionary effect on the tablet market. Now, Let's come back to the main topic, is Surface really better than ipad and to be a ipad killer?  Here, Let’s check the unique features of surface.

surface keyboard  A frustration for many users of the iPad and other touchscreen devices is the keyboard. While it's possible to get somewhat proficient at tapping spots on a flat screen, most acknowledge it's impossible to get e-mail and other documents written as quickly as with physical keys. Sure, there are third-party keyboards you can buy to add onto the iPad, but they can be clunky. The Surface keyboard will be part of its Touch Cover, which is connected with magnets and flips open. There will be a version with pressure-sensitive flat keys and another with more traditional raised keys called a Type Cover. They're both sleeker and thinner than the third-party offerings for the iPad. The Touch Cover is 3 millimeters thick, and the Type Cover is 5 millimeters. And for the style-sensitive among us, they'll come in a variety of colors, including black, pink, red and blue.

2.USB ports
Both versions of the Surface come with USB ports (2.0 on the RT and a faster 3.0 on the Windows Pro). The lack of ports has been one of the few persistent complaints about the iPad. These ports open up the possibility of extra storage, printing and other external capabilities that should be easier and quicker than the workarounds iPad users need involving cloud storage, Wi-Fi connections and the like.

3.Digital Ink And Stylus
Microsoft designed the Windows 8 Pro version of the Surface tablet to accept stylus input. The company's demonstration of how the digital ink works gave the impression that writing, highlighting and underlining on the tablet is easy. Writes Slash Gear, "The distance between the screen (digitizer) and the stylus is only .7mm thick, and allows for it to be highly accurate, making you feel like the ballpoint of a pen is actually writing on the 'surface.'"

4.Options For Casual And Power Users
Before picking up a Surface tablet, potential buyers should consider which version best fits their needs: The Windows RT version, a more traditional tablet that's slim and light and performs basic tasks -- with a presumably iPad-like price tag; or the Windows 8 Pro configuration, a slightly beefier and slightly pricier tablet that's more closely related to a laptop and capable of running heavy-duty software. Surface tablets running Windows RT are built around an ARM processor. According to CNN, chipsets made by ARM are found in 95 percent of other mobile devices, including the iPad. Windows 8 Pro models are built around an Intel chip and will run applications that one would expect to find on traditional laptops: Photoshop, Word, and Excel.

Apple has made such a compact, stylish tablet that many of its competitors look chunky by comparison. That's not true of the Surface, at least as it was demoed Monday. First, its display screen is 10.6 inches, almost a full inch bigger than the iPad's. And the company says it's optimized to have essentially the same dimensions as a movie screen: So, farewell black bars when watching video. The Surface for Windows RT is a fraction of a tiny thinner than the iPad (9.3vs.9.4), while the heftier Surface for Windows 8 Pro will be 13.5 millimeters. The RT weighs virtually the same as the iPad, while the Pro will be around 2 pounds.

New Features of iOS6 You might missed

Apple presented the long awaited iOS6 update as the WWDC, the iOS6 would be available for iPhone, ipad and touch in the Fall. News about iOS6 had dominated headlines all the the week. Cook says the new iOS contains more than 200 new features. we need a closer look at this new operation system coming this fall. Here, I would like list some new features long awaited and also something you may missed.

Useful tutorials:

1.Siri Upgrade(New languages, launch apps)
ios6 siri
With iOS 6, Siri gets a couple of distinct improvements you might find useful. First, because of the aforementioned changes to the Maps app, when you ask Siri to find a restaurant or gas station it will be able to literally help you find it with turn-by-turn navigation. Another aspect of Siri in iOS 6 that you’ll appreciate is the ability to open apps. What’s more, iOS6 would bring siri to the new ipad , Imagine, though, the new ipad with siri, tha’s so cool~

2.Apple Maps(turn-by-turn navigation)

apple map
Apple is ditching Google Maps, and switching to its own home-grown mapping app. The best part about the change is that the new Maps app will include turn-by-turn navigation, Yelp integration, and real-time traffic updates. The Garmin Street Pilot app sets the bar pretty high, so it remains to be seen if the iOS 6 Maps app can live up expectations. But, there is no way to assign the Garmin Street Pilot app as the default, so it will be a vast improvement to at least have the default Maps app provide more useful instructions to get your from Point A to Point B. We hope apple map would get a big improvement.

3.A new Share screen

In iOS 5, when you tap to share a photo, you get a long list of sharing actions to choose from—whether it’s posting to Twitter, sending an email or iMessage, or some other option. iOS 6 adds Facebook sharing as an option, along with sharing to various Chinese social networks. (That’s a nod to how important the Chinese market has become to Apple.) But Apple decided against cramming more buttons into that panel.
Instead, iOS 6 presents you with a new, icon-based sharing screen. It uses icons to represent the apps and services that you can share your content with and looks quite a bit like the iPhone’s home screen.

4.Call rejection

Sometimes, you can’t take a call when your iPhone starts ringing. You can already quickly send a call to voicemail by tapping the Ignore button, but iOS 6 adds more powerful options for when you’re too busy to answer. When your phone rings, you’ll see a button on the screen akin to the new camera shortcut on the lock screen in iOS 5.1—a switch that you slide up to trigger.
When you do so, you’ll see options to send the caller a message, or to remind yourself to call the person back later. If you choose to send a message, iOS offers several default options; you can also save custom responses. Your iPhone will then attempt to iMessage or SMS the caller with your note, while also sending them straight to your voicemail.

5.Spotlight tweak
If you have lots of apps, sometimes it’s hard to figure out precisely which homescreen they’re located on. However, in iOS 6, Spotlight makes that at least a smidgen easier, by listing the name of the folder a particular app is nestled inside when it appears in the search results.

ios6 safari
Apple has copied some of its competitors with some much-needed upgrades features for Safari. First and foremost is the ability to sync open tabs from Safari on a desktop to Safari on an iOS device via iCloud. This also requires OS X Mountain Lion, but still, it took Apple long enough. Opera, Firefox, and others have offered this for ages.

Finally, let’s check about the compatibility of iOS 6 for apple devices:

Prometheus Review—Thrill Without Alien

Half of philosophical describe, half of pure horror show, Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" ends up with less to say than it thinks. Though this one more involving than much of summer blockbuster this year, however, by the standards set by its wizardly director it's something of a disappointment.

You needn’t worried if you doesn’t know much about alien — "Prometheus" stands on its own way. But those with vivid memories of what happened to Ellen Ripley aboard the Nostromo 33 years ago will find several points of reference in common with this latest iteration.
Aside from Scott's expert first-time use of 3D, the main differences between "Prometheus" and those earlier films are that the new one is more thrilled than it is scary, and it's considerably more self-conscious about the ideas that lie beneath the action.
Although the director remains a master creator of alternate worlds, "Prometheus," unlike its predecessors, does not wear its themes lightly. It pushes too hard, which is dicey in and of itself for genre material and contrasts badly with the standard nature of some of the story's plotting.
Elizabeth Shaw (Rapace) and Charlie Holloway, a pair of romantically involved archaeologists, have made a startling discovery: a 35,000-year-old pictogram that shows humans worshiping an enormous figure who points to the stars.
This same image has also been discovered in a number of far-flung sites all over the world, leading Shaw and Holloway to conclude (as an unacknowledged Erich von Daniken claimed in his 1968 book "Chariots of the Gods") that beings from outer space had a big hand in creating life on Earth.

Prometheus alien

Messianically determined to find these aliens and answer once and for all big questions like "Where do we come from? What is our purpose?," the pair persuades the world's richest human, Peter Weyland of Weyland Industries, to spend a trillion dollars, give or take, to fund a trip to outer space with the purpose of tracking those "engineers" down.
"Prometheus" proper begins on a spaceship ominously named after the character in Greek mythology who suffered greatly for challenging the gods. Though Jane k is the nominal captain, the ship is really run by Meredith Vickers, a Wey land Industries bigwig who is not shy about saying things like "my job is to make sure you do yours."
Theron, who has clearly found her comfort zone with ice-cold roles, is strong here, but from the acting point of view "Prometheus" belongs to the protean Fassbender, who excels as David, the spaceship's resident android.
Considered by Peter Weyland to be the closest thing to a son he has, albeit with the drawback of not having a soul, David who watches "Lawrence of Arabia" for tips on being human is smarter and more capable than anyone on the ship and very much knows it. Fassbender gets David's almost-but-not-quite human character exactly right and is especially good at conveying the can-he-be-trusted aspect that always comes with android territory.
More hit and miss is Rapace of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo", who never quite connects with the tree-hugger aspects of Shaw's character but really comes into her own once things start to go south in a major way.

For it will not come as a surprise to anyone that everything is not exactly sweetness and light on the planet where the Prometheans land in search of those creative aliens. All kinds of awful, increasingly grotesque and horrific stuff starts to happen, and having someone with Shaw's indomitability around turns out to be a major plus for mankind.
In an odd coincidence, both "Prometheus" and the "Battleship" share a press material reference to scientist Stephen Hawking' swarming that intelligent life from other planets "might develop into something we wouldn't want to meet."  A heavy film which push us to unmerited significance.

Which Feature You Want on The Iphone5?

All overall world are waiting for the release date of iphone5, the next generation of I phone. Although widely expected, there is no iphone5 in the first half of 2012. However, according to the deluge of rumors about iphone5, we could believe that the new iPhone would release in October this year.
From the first generation of iPhone to the iPhone 4s, every time a new one is launched, most of the focus is on particular feature, antenna design of iphone4 and Siri of 4s. We also found tons of guess about the new features of iphone5 on the net, and today let check those guesswork and there must some features you want.

1.Flexible OLED Displayer.
iphone5 flexible displayer

There have been rumors floating around that iPhone 5 would have Flexible displayer. And the flexible displayer would produce by Samsung. SKwon Oh-hyun, Vice Chairman of Samsung, recently stated that mass production of the flexible displays will start in the second half of 2012 and there is significant demand from clients. However, most of the experts think that it might be a bit too early to expect such changes in the next iPhone. The next iPhone – which will be the 6th generation of iPhones – is being referred to as iPhone 5. Realistically speaking, the major upgrades can be expected for the processor, display, memory, camera and the software of this phone. If you talk about the long-term changes, then you can expect Apple to move away from the traditional design which has become so popular. But for the immediate future, the design is likely to remain the same.
Hope index: 100%
Chance of implement: Tiny

2.Removable battery
iphone5 removable battery

This well-known rendering of a future iPhone dreams of a model with a removable battery. However, it appears to run counter to Apple's current design principles. All of us want a battery removable iPhone, Alas, this dream seems never come true.
Hope index: 100%
Chance of implement: never

3.Biometric security
iphone5 security

It's not a must-have upgrade, but it really cool to swipe your finger rather than enter a password to unlock your phone. It could also be combined with NFC (near field communication technology -- see next slide) for making mobile payments. For Apple, it’s not a tough job and who could look for it as a light spot of iphone5.
Hope index: 50%
Chance of implement: possible

4.NFC-enabled (near field communication technology)
iphone5 NFC

There's been some speculation that Apple might include Near Field Communication (NFC) technology in the iPhone 5, turning it into a kind of credit/debit card. Leading up to the release of what turned out to be the iPhone 4S, rumor had it that Apple may have been working on integrating near field communication technology (NFC) into the next iPhone. This is sort of a bar code replacement technology that would allow your iPhone -- among other things -- to act as a payment device (e-wallet) or even a car key.
Hope index: 70%
Chance of implement: possible

5.A6 processor
iphone5 A6

With Apple's acquisition of PA Semiconductor, it's been designing and churning out its own CPUs, including the 1GHz A5 processor in the iPhone 4S and A5+ processor in the new iPad. Many people thought we'd get the A6 processor with the iphone5 -- and that it would be a quad-core chip. The A6 chip is probably a 28nm process (compared with the 45nm of A5), with lower energy consumption and higher speeds. The high range processor could improve the performance of programs like Siri, as well as a host of other features, including still and video image capture.
Hope index: 80%
Chance of implement: probably

6.High performance of Battery

Removable battery seems never come true, however we could get more hope to the better performance of the battery .We have no expect that when Every time Apple puts out a new iPhone, the battery life gets slightly better, so we expect no less from the iphon5. At least on paper, the iPhone 4S offers very similar battery life to the iPhone 4, so this is one area where there's significant room for improvement.
Hope index: 100%
Chances of implementation: Must

7.Larger screen
iphone 5 screen

Larger screen is certain, we could confirm that the iphone5 with a 4inch+ screen. However, large screen means more battery consumption. We're hoping Apple can come up with the right balance. Going to 4 inches makes a significant difference for user experience and is probably the optimal size for a smartphone screen.
Hope index: 100%
Chances of implementation: Must

Talented youth dancers – Tristen Carter (Eric), Edward Mandell (Marv), Kida Burns (Tommy) and Camren Bicondova (Prissy) - steal the show in underground dance competition (aka “battles”).

5.For Greater Glory
The film’s adventure unfolds against the long-hidden, true story of the 1920s Cristero War, a 1920s conflict between the Mexican government and Catholic rebels after the government instituted brutal anti-clerical laws that, among other provisions, banned the public wearing of religious garb.
